In this session, Simon White, NHS Scotland National Programme Director, gave us an overview of the NHS Scotland Scan for Safety Programme as it progresses into its third year.
Simon discussed key achievements, the expansion of scanning technologies to pilot sites, the integration of GS1 Standards, and insights gained from these initiatives. He also addressed the upcoming challenges as the programme moves towards its completion in 2026.
Given health is a devolved matter from the UK government, Simon explored the advantages and challenges of adopting a uniform system across Scotland and contrast these with approaches in other UK nations.
